what it is
the mars s.t.s. is a bare-bones, single-user, content management system (CMS), designed for ease of use and wide applicability for the casual to professional web author. it needs no database to function, although a server running PHP is required. (contact your website hosting provider for details.)

what it does
mars s.t.s. includes a skinning system that allows users to select the overall flavor of your site, using cookies to save their preferences. for first-time visitors, a default skin is present, and default content and menu files are loaded into the index page. when a user clicks on a link, it loads replacement content, which in turn may be set to load up any number of alternate menus.

what's so cool about it
it uses a detection system, called a sniffer, to determine the browser and operating system of the user. using this sniffer, it delivers an appropriate set of images to a special dynamic CSS file in order to display a unique, semi-transparent interface that nicely adapts itself across many different browsers and platforms. it also takes advantage of many advanced features of modern browsers, without relying on them for proper functioning.
